WHO wants To Increase Dexamethasone Production For Pandemic Patients

In the light of the ongoing pandemic reached an alarming level, the World Health Organization(WHO) wants to increase the production of the steroid dexamethasone to cure the virus.
WHO took this call, after the British clinical trials gave hopes of curing the critically-ill patients of the pandemic. The steroid is believed to be a life-saving potential drug.
A group of researchers from the University of Oxford tried the steroid on more than 2,000 patients of the pandemic who were in a critical situation and after using the steroid the fatality rate came down by 35 percent.
WHO Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus who participated in a virtual news conference, said that though the data they have is preliminary, the medical findings are giving hope that the steroid has the life-saving potential to cure the pandemic patients who are in a critical situation.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus went on to say that the next challenge they face in this regard is to increase the production of the steroid rapidly across the globe. Dexamethasone will be distributed to the nations with the most number of infections accordingly.
