Recently, a few national media outlets had claimed that a few Indian cricketers were not happy with skipper Virat Kohli and reportedly complained against the Virat with Honorary secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah. The things between the players and the skipper were not good these days as per the reports.

The media reports also say that things in the Indian camp turned upside down after India lost the World Test Championship Finals to New Zealand. After the loss, Virat Kohli is said to have pulled up two senior players which hadn't pleased the players forcing them to revolt against the captain.

Reports say that the modern wall of Indian cricket Cheteshwar Pujara and vice-captain for the tournament Ajinkya Rahane were pulled by Virta over the ETC final loss. The senior players who did not like the way the skipper behaved had complained to Jay Shah.

Ajinkya Rahane, who couldn't score valuable runs in the crucial match had reportedly faced the heat from Virat Kohli. With the senior players complaining, the BCCI reportedly sought response from the other players as well.

These reports also attribute the decision taken by Virat Kohli to step down as the T 20 captain to the complaint made by Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane. Senior bowler Ravichandran Ashwin had also complained against Virat Kohli reportedly.

While Virat Kohli announced that he is stepping down as the captain due to the workload he has been taking as the skipper, the media reports are saying other reasons for the same giving contradictory reasons.

Virat Kohli announced the decision on leaving the T 20 captaincy on his Twitter handle. He also shared a statement on his account saying that he is facing a workload as the skipper and a member of the team as well.

The upcoming T 20 World Cup will be the last tournament for Virat Kohli as the captain. Coincidentally, the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup is also his first outing as the Indian skipper. There is no clarity on which player would be made the captain for the Indian side for the shorter form of the game.
