By: Tupaki Desk | 8 July 2022 11:59 AM GMTAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's mother YS Vijayamma, who was with him when he started his own party YSRCP, was made the honorary president. After holding the position for a decade, YS Vijayamma has stepped down from the post saying that her daughter Sharmila needed her most than Jagan.
YS Vijayamma, who took part in the plenary sessions of YCP announced the same earlier today. Though her decision was a shock to the YCP cadre, YS Vijayamma's move gave birth to an interesting debate on who will replace her.
Though there is no information on who gets to take the honorary position, it is said that party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy might take the position.
On the other hand, there are a few reports that say that Jagan's wife Bharathi might be considered for the post. The position YS Vijayamma held did not hold any power or authority over the party.
As Vijayamma stood by him in hew new political life, Jagan made her honorary chief of the YSRCP. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister YS Sharmila is also out of YCP as she started her own party in the neighboring state Telangana.
It is expected that the YCP would make an announcement on the new replacement any time soon. Until the announcement comes, these theories will pop up.
