Whom Did AP High Court Rap On Amaravati Yatra?
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Nov 2022 9:10 AM GMTIt's the human tendency to take only what suits their ideology. This instinct turns problematic when used in politics. The same happened in Andhra Pradesh and the state High Court took a strong objection to this. The observations people gave on the court's verdict on the Amaravati yatra raised many eyeballs.
It is known that the Andhra Pradesh High Court recently gave its nod to the yatra and said that only 600 people can take part in the yatra. People are looking at the issue from two point of views. The pro-YCP media is saying that the verdict is a big shock to the farmers while others are saying that it is a big blow to the ruling party.
Amid this, the High Court Of Andhra Pradesh made some key comments on the Amaravati yatra, and let us have a look at the comments. Rajadhani Rythu Parirakshana Samithi and Amaravati Rajadhani Samikarana Rythu Samakhyas moved the bench saying that the restrictions are stopping them from standing in solidarity with the farmers.
Hearing the petitions, the Andhra Pradesh High Court bench took a strong objection to the round table meetings held by the MLAs and Ministers in favour of three capitals despite the Court giving the verdict in favour of Amaravati. The bench also asked why the government permitted the protests demanding High Court in Kurnool though the court said the government has no role to decide on where the court should come.
The bench also asked why the farmers are doing yatra even after the three-judge bench said Amaravati region would be the capital city of the state. The Amaravati farmers’ Maha Padayatra is a politically motivated programme, run by having farmers at the forefront, the bench said.
Special Leave Petitions(SLP) were filed by the Andhra Pradesh government challenging the verdict of the High Court and we have to wait and see what the Supreme Court will say. The bench asked why the government filed the petition.
If we look at the comments made by the bench, the justices found fault with both parties- the Andhra Pradesh government and the Amaravati farmers. Rather than understanding the mistakes, both parties are saying that the High Court slammed the other party.
