Puttamraju Kandriga village garnered the attention of Nation only after Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar adopted under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
In this village located in Nellore district, About 399 people live in 110 Houses. Most of them are BC/ST who fall in the below poverty line. People her making a living by growing Red Chillies and Lime.
4 Months Ago, Puttamraju Kandriga village is deprived of roads, drinking water, toilets and uninterrupted power supply. Now, The place turned into a model village with Sachin came forward to spend Rs 2.79 crore from MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds. Upon paying a visit to Puttamraju Kandriga, we get to see Concrete Roads, Underground Sewage Network, 24-hour Power Supply, Storm Water Drains, a Playground and a Community Hall.
Sachin claims he is proud of what was achieved in a span of 4 months. When asked why didn't he choose a village in his home state Mumbai, The Cricket Icon said Puttamraju Kandriga is part of India and people across the country has showered love & affection on him.
