Why Are Defunct RTC Unions Leaders Fighting?
X
Everyone knows that Telangana Chief Minister KCR has decimated the RTC unions. He has cancelled the unions and turned its leaders into ordinary workers. Leaders like Ashwatthama Reddy and Raji Reddy, who reigned supreme for years, were edged out of the RTC. But, there are indications that these two leaders are getting active again.

The reason? KCR wants to have a pro-government union in the RTC. This has sent Ashwatthama Reddy and other leaders into a tizzy. They have suddenly become active. It is being rumoured that the top leaders of the defunct union now want to control the union. Why are they fighting for a union that doesn't exist?

Sources say that it has got to do with the financial assets of the RTC union. Though defunct now, the union has around Rs 1 crore in cash in its bank accounts. The leaders are now divided into pro and anti-Ashwatthama Reddy groups. The other group wants to control the union and its money. It has even approached KTR for support. They are said to be in touch with the TRS leaders and want to take control of the union.

Even as this tussle is going on and the RTC employees are watching the sordid drama that is unfolding with amusement, Telangana boss KCR is not revealing his plans. He is keeping cards close to his chest.
