Why Are Madigas Angry With TDP?
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Nov 2020 3:53 AM GMTVarla Ramaiah is a trusted lieutenant of the TDP and he never tires singing paeons to Chandrababu Naidu. But, he is said to be unhappy these days. If sources are to be believed, he is deeply unhappy at Chandrababu Naidu's policy of using and then throwing away of the Madiga SC community.
He is said to have organised a secret meeting recently with key Madiga leaders. The Madiga leaders, who met, were unanimous in slamming the TDP leadership. They feel that the TDP had used the Madiga community in the name of SC reservation categorisation. As long as the state was united, Madigas were a potent political force and the TDP had used them. Now that the state is divided and AP has fewer Madigas, the TDP is now said to be ignoring them.
The TDP began giving more importance to Mala leaders like Jupudi Prabhakar and Karem Sivaji. Not just that, the party has stopped talking about the Madigas altogether. The issue of the reservation categorisation has become useless for the party. Varla, a Madiga, was never given a party ticket while the party was in power. Finally when he was given a Rajya Sabha ticket, the TDP did not have the required numbers and the fight was only nominal.
