Why BJP Wants To Buy English Daily In Telangana?

Is the BJP planning to buy an English daily? Sources in the know assert that the BJP indeed is trying to own a Secunderaba-based newspapr, one of the largest circulated dailies in Telangana. Sources say that some investers close to the BJP dispensation have approached the owners of the mediahouse, which is facing several money laundering cases and have started negotiations.
The media house was owned by former MP from the Congress Party. Till recently, it was the largest circulated English daily. It was known to be a powerful opinion maker too. The problems began when the owner started dabbling in sports sponsorship. Since then, there were attempts to sell of the paper and several prospective buyers came and went. Now, industrialists close to the BJP are said to be interested in buying the asset.
But, here's one question. What is the use of buying an English daily when what one needs is a Telugu daily. If one has to make an impression on the people of Telangana, one needs a Telugu daily. Strange the BJP biggies are not thinking of starting a Telugu daily for Telangana.
