Why did KCR visit Gandhi hospital suddenly?

Why did Telangana CM KCR suddenly visit the Gandhi hospital? In all his seven-year-rule, he had never bothered to visit the Gandhi hospital. Even during the heights of the first wave, he had not gone to the hospital. But, now suddenly, he decided to go to the hospital and call on the patients.
Interestingly, he was not seen wearing the customary PPE. The officially releases pics too do not show him wearing PPEs. This will create an impression about his dare and courage. It would send signals that KCR is fearless enough not to wear PPEs. Secondly, this will compare him favourably with his predecessor Etela Rajender, who wore a PPE. There are some critics who say that KCR did not visit the Covid wards, but as of now there is no official confirmation about the status of the patients he visited.
Highly placed sources say that KCR chose to visit as he does not want to give an impression that there is slackness after Etela was sacked. Etela was seen reviewing the situation, visiting the Covid centres and interacting with the Central Government for vaccines and other material. Ever since he was removed , there is a general feeling that the all important health sector was neglected. It is to dispel this notion that KCR has visited the Gandhi Hospital.
