Why did Nagari MLA and firebrand suddenly meet YSRCP general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vijaya Sai Reddy at Tadepalli? Is it about her becoming part of the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy cabinet? Or is it about her strained relations with Chittoor district YSRCP strongman and minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy?
If sources are to be believed, Roja is pitching for a place in the cabinet. She realises that if she is made a minister, she would be able to go the 2024 elections as a minister. This will place her in a position of great advantage. This will also help her counter the moves by Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.
Meanwhile there is a buzz that she could be made the Home Minister in place of Mekathoti Sucharita. The discussion with Vijaya Sai Reddy is mainly to know whether she is in or out of the cabinet. Sources say that if Roja is made the home minister, she would emerge as an effective counterweight to Chandrababu Naidu, who too is from Chittoor.
There are reports that ministers Peddireddy, Buggana Rajendranath, Kodali Nani, Botsa Satyanarayana, Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna and Seediri Appala Raju are in the safe zone. The remaining ministers are likely to be replaced, say sources. Leaders like Topudurthi Prakash Reddy, Silpa Chakrapani Reddy, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and Gadikota Srikanth Reddy are also said to be in the race for a ministerial position from the Reddy quota.
