When India is struggling with the Covid crisis, like a few other countries, Australia has also announced a travel ban from India. However, the decision did not go well with cricketer-turned-commentator Michael Slater.
He has come down against the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison over the travel ban and urged the PM to witness the situation in India in a private jet.
Taking to microblogging site Twitter, the former cricketer said, every Australian who is in India is in real fear. To understand the situation, he suggested the Australian PM come in his private jet and witness the dead bodies on the street.
âAmazing to smoke out the PM on a matter that is a human crisis. The panic, the fear of every Australian in India is real!! How about you take your private jet and come and witness dead bodies on the street!â his tweet reads.
This is not the first time, the former cricket became vocal against the travel ban. Earlier on Monday, Slater said the Prime Minister has blood on his hands and question how dare he is to treat them like this.
The former cricketer stood in solidarity with India in the fight against the deadly pandemic. Saying that Indians are nothing but amazing, he urged every Indian to stay safe.
"Above all my love and prayers to every Indian. You have been nothing but amazing to me every time I've been there. Please stay safe." Michael Slater's tweet reads.
On the other hand, BCCI said it's their responsibility to see that the foreign players reach their nations without any problems and said the overseas will be sent to their respective countries in chartered flights.
