With the Graduate Constituency elections fast approaching in Telangana, all major contenders are devising ingenious ways to get votes. They are coming up ever newer ways to keep their flock together.
Some candidates, who fancy chance of winning the election, are said to be reaching out to the graduate voters. They are said to be offering undisclosed sums to the voters and are collecting their original degree certificates. These certificates would be kept in the possession of the candidates or their agents as guarantee for voting for the candidate. These certificates would be returned to them after the elections and on confirming that they have indeed voted for them. In the event of these candidates taking the money and not voting for the candidate, their certificates would be returned only after they repay the bribe amount.
This is a safeguard by the politicians who are afraid that the voters may deceive them. The parties are also on a campaign to include voters in the Graduates voters list. They are said to be taking the help of the college students to go to the prospective voters and get their votes.
