Why His Own Partymen Are Opposed To This Chief Minister
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 May 2020 12:53 PM ISTA funny war is on in Chhattisgarh Congress Party. The Chief Minister and some of his close associates are now at loggerheads. They are blaming each other. A faction led by senior Congressman TS Singhdeo is dead opposed to CM Bhupen Baghel. It wants him to be replaced.
The reason? Singhdeo is accusing Bhupen Baghel of pandering to the Naxalites. A large section of the Congressmen are unhappy that Baghel is increasingly dependent on Leftist and pro-Maoist advisors. It is these so-called intellectuals who are calling shots in Chhattisgarh. Many of these people have been on record praising the Maoist armed attacks and some of them even for backing Pakistan. A section of the Congress, which feels that the party must adopt a nationalist stance and a tough stance towards the Naxalites, is deeply unhappy with Baghel. It says that the CM should not forget that the Naxals have all but wiped out the Congress leadership in the Dantewada attack and that the Government should do everything to curb the Naxals. But, Baghel is increasingly getting more and more dependent on the pro-Left advisors.
More worrisomely, some other senior leaders like Tamradhwaj Sahu and Charan Das Mahant have been pushed to the sidelines by an aggressive Bhupen Baghel. These leaders are sulking and are making a common cause with Singhdeo.
