Why is AAP attacking TRS chief KCR's Delhi visit?
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 March 2022 4:12 AM GMTWhy is the Aam Aadmi Party, which does not have much political stake in Telangana, targeting Telangana CM KCR? Why has AAP's prominent leader and Delhi MLA Somnath Bharti attacked KCR? He not just criticized CM KCR but also raised questions about the very purpose of his Delhi visit. Interestingly, the criticism is coming from a party, which the TRS is hoping to befriend as part of a nation-wide anti-Modi alliance for the 2024 elections.
Somnath Bharti sought to know why BJP's rebel MP Subramanyam Swamy met eminent jurist and senior lawyer Fali Nariman soon after meeting Telangana CM KCR. He said something serious is going to happen in Telangana. He said there was something fishy in the whole series of meetings. He reminded that Subramnyam Swamy did not talk to the media about his meeting with KCR.
Not just that, the AAP MLA, who is considered quite close to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, termed the Telangana government the most corrupt. He said that KCR has duped the farmers, students, lawyers and the common man in Telangana. He said schemes like gifting three acres of arable land to the Dalits were done away with.
AAP's criticism is being considered significant as the party is hoping to expand outside Delhi and Punjab. The party has recently contested in both UP, Uttarakhand and Goa. Sources say that the party is trying to expand to South India too and that it is planning to increase its activity in Telangana, where it sees brighter prospects. Significantly, Kejriwal did not try to meet KCR and did not even invite him to lunch, which is the normal practice when a CM visits another CM's state.
