Why Is Amit Shah Launching BJP Membership From Shamshabad?

The BJP national leadership seems to have lot of hopes on Telangana. Otherwise, why would Amit Shah launch the party's membership drive from Telangana. While the Prime Minister is launching the membership drive from Varanasi, his constituency, Amit Shah has chosen Shamshabad in Telangana for the same. July 6 is Jana Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukerjee's birth anniversary. He would also hold a meeting of the party workers on that day.
The party is eyeing 2023 elections in Telangana and want to emerge as the largest party in the state. The national leadership has told the party leaders in the state to go all out against the TRS. They were told not to spare any wrongs on the part of the TRS. This tough message was conveyed to party state chief Dr K Laxman by none other than Amit Shah himself.
The party is buoyed up by the massive response to the party in the recent Lok Sabha elections to the Lok Sabha. The party has won four seats and emerged a close second in three other seats. The BJP is now planning to expand and emerge as a credible alternative to the TRS.
