Why Is Chandrababu Spending Sleepless Nights?

Know who is spending sleepless nights ahead of the counting of votes? Not KCR nor KCR and not even the Congress biggies. It's Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu. He has staked everything in this election. He staked his reputation of anti-Congressism and joined hands with the Congress. He was confident that his cadre in Telangana would be very active in the election fight.
But, once the election campaign began, Chandrababu Naidu realised that the famed TDP cadre was clearly missing in action. A majority of the TDP field level cadre has already shifted to the TRS. So, the TDP candidates did not have any cadre support. The situation has come to such a pass that even in a stronghold like Kukatpalli, the party did not have agents in several booths. This showed that the TRS cadre has already left the party.
If the TRS comes back to power again, it would be very vindictive towards the residual TDP cadres and would make their life a hell. Chandrababu Naidu too knows that if KCR rides back to power, he would ensure that the TDP is wiped out completely from the Telangana. Chandrababu also knows that the challenge will not be limited to Telangana alone. This will have a cascading effect on AP too, where Jagan is proving to be too tough a competitor to brush off. So, the TDP might lose both Telangana and AP. It would no longer be relevant in national politics too. That's Chandrababu's biggest worry now.
