One Telugu Desam firebrand MLA who is usually very expressive and very punchy both within and outside the assembly is unusually silent these days. Payyavula Keshav, who made a name for himself through his powerful speeches, is very low key of late. He is not seen on the party forums too.
Even within the TDP circles, many feel Payyavula Keshav is an unlucky man. Ministership has always eluded him. Whenever he wins the elections from Uravakonda, the TDP loses power. So, he remains a mere MLA. Whenever he loses, the party comes to power and he doesn't get a ministerial berth. Last time, Chandrababu did give him an MLC seat, but did not make him a minister. This time, he has won from Uravakonda, but the party lost again.
But of late, Payyavula Keshav is quite silent these days. He is attending the house and the party programmes perfunctorily and is not showing much interest. The reason, according to TDP watchers, lies in the three capitals issue. Payyavula is also being accused of buying lands in and around Amaravati. With his name figuring, he has gone silent, say TDP watchers. Also, he doesn't seem to see a bright future for the TDP in AP anymore. All these have pushed him into a corner of silence, say insiders.
