Why Is Rahul Gandhi Silent After Elections?
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Oct 2019 5:08 AM GMTThe elections to the two important states Maharashtra and Haryana are over and the verdict is out. The ruling BJP performed below par and the Opposition has got a new lease of life. NCP in Maharashtra and Bhupinder Hooda in Haryana have defied conventional wisdom and fought honourably. Their performance, more than the BJP victories, have become the talking point. Everyone who is someone is talking about these results. But, amid all these, one person is deafeningly silent. He has not spoken anything on the issue. He has neither appeared in public not made any comment. No marks for guessing who he is. It's our dear Rahul Gandhi.
Interestingly, Rahul Gandhi has not made any comments on the election results. He has not even appeared in public so far. Even during the electioneering, Rahul Gandhi was nowhere to be seen. He was on one of his mysterious foreign tours, which the Congressites called 'spiritual tour,' when the electioneering began. He returned to India only at the later stage and barely addressed seven meetings in both the states. Despite that the Congress performed creditably well. But, Rahul Gandhi was not seen in the celebrations. He was not even ready with a tweet or even a press note.
Interestingly the results are being interpreted as the success of the local satraps, who defied the domination of the central party leadership. It is the local leaders who are hogging the limelight after these elections. Rahul Gandhi's silence shows that the leadership is none too happy at the local leaders proving right.
