Why is TDP head-over-heels about NTR's RRR?

Rajamouli-starrer RRR is the toast of the season and everyone is talking about it. The festive atmosphere at the theatres and the fan frenzy are seen to be believed. But, amid all, the over enthusiasm of the TDP cadres and even several leaders at the theatres has not escaped the attention.
At several places, TDP cadres descended hours in advance, performed special poojas and in some cases, even conducted free blood donation camps in support of Junior NTR. The leaders too chanted slogans in support of NTR. Free water distribution points were set up near the theatres in the name of the TDP and Junior NTR.
It is clear that a section of the TDP is seeing NTR as a future leader of the party. Many view him as the sole vote catcher in the 2024 elections. In some places, former TDP MLAs too had joined the celebrations. In fact, there have been consistent demands to bring NTR back into the TDP. Such demands arose from even Kuppam constituency, which TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu represents.
NTR had vigorously campaigned in the 2009 elections. He was the star attraction of the campaign with his oratorical stills reminding people of late NTR. His speeches were well received. Even after being injured in a road mishap, he campaigned for the TDP. However, the TDP distanced him soon after the elections and has even tried to ensure that his films failed. Since then differences grew between NTR and the TDP. The rousing support that NTR got for his RRR release indicates that there is a serious rethink in a major section of the TDP.
