Why is this former Congress MP silent these days?
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 March 2022 8:38 AM GMTWhy is former MP and Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar silent? There is a buzz that he has deep differences with the party leaders on several issues and hence he is adopting a "touch me not" strategy! What is the truth? Why is there a debate over his silence?
Ponnam, who was till recently very active in the party activities, has suddenly gone silent. Except for a couple of official programmes, he is not being seen anywhere. His activity has come down after Revanth Reddy became the party president for Telangana. His silence is the hot topic of discussion these days.
During the time of Huzurabad bypolls, there was a buzz that Ponnam would join the TRS. Though he refuted the rumours, the buzz stayed on. But, of late, he has stopped criticising the TRS and the state government. He has not made any comments on any major issue. Even when the TRS and the BJP are engaged in a war of words, he is silent.
At the same time, he has been alleging that there were covert operatives in the party, who are in touch with he TRS. He said there should be an objective analysis of why the congress failed to win in the elections. But, he is not seen in the dissident camp too. He has not met any dissident and nor did he extend his support to them.
Sources say his only complaint is that he is not properly rehabilitated in the party. He is said to be unhappy over not being given any key position in the state committee. His silence is because of this, say sources. As for Ponnam Prabhakar, he has not given any clarification about his silence.
