Why is TRS worried about Eatala's meeting with this minister?
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 Jun 2021 6:58 AM GMTFinally Eatala Rajender has joined the BJP. One person who must surely have been watching all his moves in Delhi is T chief minister KCR. Eatala met Amit Shah, Kishan Reddy, JP Nadda and several others. One brief meeting that Eatala Rajender had during his Delhi visit must have surely rankled KCR. By late evening on Monday, Eatala had a half-hour meeting with Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Gajendra Singh is the union minister for water resources and is known to be a tough task master. Not only does he know about every aspect relating to water, he is also known for his telegaphic memory and sharp intellect. What transpired at the meeting is anybody's guesss, but the meeting went on for half-an-hour. Usually, politicians meet party chiefs, prime minister and the home minister. Why did Eatala seek an appointment with Gajendra Singh and how did he get an appointment so quickly. The question being asked in the political circles is whether both had discussed the massive corruption in the irrigation projects, especially the Kaleshwaram project.
It may be recalled that the Central government is in possession of several key documents and detailed project reports. The state government kept them as secret and did not hand them over for a long time. Eatala, who had dealt with finance, could have deep knowledge about these irrigation projects. Hence, this meeting is being viewed with lot of seriousness in the TRS camp.
