Why Is Vinod Kumar Getting Active in Vemulawada?
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 March 2021 4:25 AM GMTWhy has former MP and Telangana Planning Board chairperson B Vinod become so active in Vemulawada assembly constituency? Of late, he is being seen frequently in the constituency and was present at the Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in the constituency during the Shivaratri celebrations.
TRS insiders say that there is a well-laid out plan behind the moves of B Vinod. Vinod is closely connected to KCR family and also to the family of sitting Vemulawada MP Chennamaneni Ramesh. His maternal grandmother is from Vemulawada constituency. He has deep links in the constituency and of late, he has been trying to activate all thise connections.
TRS sources say that with the fate of sitting MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh hanging in the balance, the TRS is planning to pit Vinod in case there is a byelection in the constituency. There is a controversy over the citizenship of Ramesh. He is being accused of being a German citizen and a foreign citizen cannot become a public representative in India. The Union Home Ministry has categorically said that Ramesh holds a German passport and frequently travels using the same document. If the court, which is hearing the case pertaining to Ramesh’s citizenship, gives its verdict, Ramesh will be disqualified and there would be a bye-election for Vemulawada.
Hence the TRS is trying to promote Vinod as an alternative candidate. Hence, the former MP’s forays into the constituency have suddenly increased.
