Why Is Ysrcp Aping TDP's Wrong Methods?
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 July 2021 6:53 AM GMTThe YSRCP, it appears, is following the footsteps of the TDP in North Andhra. The TDP was ruined by doing this. Unfortunately, the YSRCP too is doing the same thing. The problem, sources say, is because of the concentration of power in a few hands.
It may be recalled that though the TDP did well in providing relief and minimising damage during the Hudhud cyclone, it failed to win popular support. The reason was that the whole operation was handled by a small group of leaders, who did not even allow the MLAs and MPs to enter. As a result, the voters felt that their local leaders were useless and voted them out in the 2019 elections. The YSRCP too seems to be doing the same. The local MLAs and Mps have been reduced to mere figureheads. A handful of leaders are doing everything without taking into account the ground situation. These leaders are not taking inputs from the ground level. They seem to be believing in 'two press conferences and four tweets' method.
Vijaysai Reddy in Visakhapatnam district, Speaker Tammineni and minister S Appala Raju in Srikakulam and Botsa in Vizianagaram are setting the agenda in their own way. As a result, this might snowball into a major problem in the coming days. There could be opposition to these three or four leaders and the YSRCP may have to pay the price for this just as TDP did.
