Why Journalists Are Running Away From These Leaders?

The mediapersons are doing a fantastic job these days. Despite Corona scare they are working day in and day out to dole out news and keep the people abreast of what's happening around them. But, more than the Corona, there is something that is scaring the daylights out of them these days.
Some senior Congress leaders, who have for long been habituated to issue press statements, are issuing statement after statement telling about the masks they distributed or the food packets they supply. And, they want these statements along with photos to be published in the newspaper the next day. But, these days, most newspapers have reduced the number of pages and are publishing only very important news stories. There is practically no space for the statements issued by these Congress oldies. The leaders are pestering the mediapersons with phone calls and are asking them why their statements are not getting published. These leaders are also seen slamming the mediapersons that they are sold out to their rivals.
So, these days the media persons are trying every trick in the trade to avoid these Congress leaders who are calling them up for getting their news items published. " This is worse than Corona," quipped a journo.
