Why many TDP leaders do not want alliance with Jana Sena?
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 April 2022 11:21 AM GMTThe Telugu Desam cadre across the state, especially those aspiring for a ticket to fight the 2024 elections, are said to be in a quandary. The reason? What if they do not get the party ticket after years of working hard and spending huge amounts to sustain the party? This doubt is said to be pulling back several TDP ticket aspirants from giving their best.
The TDP leaders and ticket aspirants are worried that the TDP top brass has already decided to have an electoral alliance with the Jana Sena. This means the Jana Sena will have to be given some key seats. The party has its base mainly in the twin Godavari districts and could demand more seats in these two districts. In that event, several TDP leaders, who have worked for the party and spent huge amounts all these years, would have to step aside and allow the Jana Sena to contest.
Sources say that the Jana Sena could ask for up to 40 seats in twin Godavari districts and the North Andhra region. This only means that the TDP leaders from these seats may have to make way for the Jana Sena candidates. Another major worry is that by allowing the Jana Sena to contest, the TDP leaders face the danger of losing their ground in these constituencies.
But the TDP leadership is keeping a tab on the situation in several constituencies that the Jana Sena could possibly ask. It is trying to take stock of what the TDP leaders are doing. The party leadership is also trying to assess the performance of the TDP leaders in these constituencies so that in case of no electoral alliance, the best candidate could be given the ticket.
