Why more MPs than MLAs support Panneerselvam?

People were really surprised to see more AIADMK MPs than MLAs back the leadership of O Panneerselvam following his revolt against VK Sasikala Natarajan. Till Monday, As many as 12 MPs (10 Lok Sabha, 2 Rajya Sabha) switched to Panneerselvam's Camp. Whereas only 7 MLAs came in support of OPS until Yesterday. Why is it so? Here are the reasons for it...
1) As many as 90 out of 134 existing AIADMK MLAs were given tickets by Sasikala Natarajan in 2016 Assembly Polls. So, She has got the hold over these legislators.
2) VK Sasikala Natarajan shifted the MLAs backing her to beach resort on Wednesday night to ensure they weren't accessible by Panneerselvam's Camp.
3) Most of the MLAs believe Sasikala have the calibre to form the Government and shifting to Panneerselvam's Camp only leads to mid-term polls. After spending a fortune during Assembly Polls 2016, They don't wish to go for polls within an year.
4) MPs shifting to Panneerselvam's Camp took the decision keeping the 2019 Lok Sabha polls in mind. They fear strong anti-Sasikala sentiment would ruin their chances.
5) Several AIADMK MLAs are a bit jealous of O Panneerselvam's rise to stardom. Jayalalithaa made him Revenue Minister soon after he became an MLA for first time and chosen him as CM within four months in 2001 (after she was convicted in illegal assets case). Later, He served as Finance Minister and CM for one more time. He was elected as CM even after Amma's demise. Hence, Senior Leaders and his Contemporaries doesn't want him to control the Party and Government.
