Why no one is supporting this TDP biggie?
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 April 2021 7:36 AM GMTLittle did TDP biggie and former minister Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao realise that his bravado would prove counter-productive and that he would be tailed by the police, who are bent on putting him behind the bars.
During the Tirupati bypolls, Devineni Uma played a video where YS Jagan was purportedly abusing the Lord of Tirumala. He thought that this will help him in garnering support for the TDP. He thought Jagan would be forced to do a lot of explaining. However, the video did not catch the fancy of the voters. Even the media was lukewarm towards the video clip. Only the yellow media gave him some coverage. However, a YSRCP leader had seen it and filed a case against Devineni Uma claiming that it was a morphed video.
Since then, Uma is being served notice after notice. So far, three notices have been served. The police came to the Gollapudi residence and pasted a notice on his door. A second notice was served on April 19. On 20th, they again came to his Guntupalli residence. However, on all the three occasions, Uma was not there at home.
What is disconcerting for Devineni Uma is that none of the TDP leaders, including Lokesh and Chandrababu, have come out in support of Uma. Not one has responded to the notices. Even otherwise, the TDP leaders of Krishna district maintain a safe distance from Uma. So, one can never expect support from them.
