Why Only KCR, KTR Are Doing Damage Control In Inter Board Fiasco?
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 April 2019 4:56 AM GMTA week, it is said, is a long time in politics. By that count, six months could be an era. Six months ago, everything that TRS boss KCR and his son KTR touched turned into gold. Today, things have changed. Their travel is full of missteps and false steps.
The Intermediate board fiasco has put the party on the back-foot and only KTR and KCR are left to defend the party and the government. None of the TRS leaders, ministers are talking about it. Even education minister K Jagadeeswara Reddy has limited himself to a press meet and a statement. The whole responsibility if defending the government and damage control is left to the father-son duo.
Also, the attempts to completely gobble up the Congress have also not gone down well with the masses. There is a general perception that there has to be a strong opposition for the democracy to survive. So, the attempts to finish off the Congress are backfiring. The reports that both the BJP and the Congress have done remarkably well in Parliament elections are also adding to the negative buzz for the TRS. The party’s frantic attempts to wrest control of the ZPs, ZPTCs and MPP chief posts before the MP election results are out is also being seen as an attempt to make hay while the sun shines. The damage done by the Inter board failure and indirect defence of the IT company Globarena, known to be close to the TRS bosses, is also turning out to be a big damage to the image of the TRS.
Will KCR do something quickly to control the damage and refurbish the image of the party before things slip completely out of hand?
