Why TDP is afraid of Karanam Balaram?

Several time MLA and one-time TDP loyalist Karanam Balaram Is TDP's biggest worry these days. The party is keenly watching the moves of this seasoned politician. It is trying everything to stop this MLA in his tracks.
The reason? Karanam, who has been a TDP loyalist, has recently left the party after he was upset by Chandrababu Naidu's ill treatment. The latest buzz is that he is trying to wean away at least three MLAs from the TDP into the YSRCP fold. He is said to be in talks with the TDP leaders , including MLAs, MLCs, ZPTC members and mandal level leaders, in both Gunur and Prakasam districts. Many of them have already made up their minds to leave the TDP at the right time. This is unnerving Chandrababu Naidu to no end.
The reason for this is that if three more MLAs leave the TDP, Chandrababu Naidu will lose his position as the leader of the Opposition. He would lose his cabinet rank and will now be treated like any other MLA. It is this losing of thee privilenges is making Chandrababu lose his sleep.
