Why TDP workers are laughing at Chandrababu's speech?

Several TDP worthies have began looking towards the YSRCP. One wink from Jagan, they are all set to queue up in front of the YSRCP office in Tadepalli. But, Jagan is Jagan and he can never be Chandrababu. So, he would not encourage defections.
But, Ch andrababu being Chandrababu, is mortally afraid of his MLAs deserting the party. He knows the weaknesses of the MLAs and how they plan their defection. So, Chandrababu is appealing to his MLAs to have some morals and work for some principles. He now pontificates that an opposition is very important for the survival of democracy. He said this at the birth anniversary of legendary NTR. Sounds so fine, but why did he encourage defection of 23 MLAs from the YSRCP?
Chandrababu asked the party workers to work hard and function as an effective Opposition. Let’s bring back TDP to power in 2024, he averred. Despite his pep talk the party cadre seems unenthusiastic. There are reports that at least half a dozen TDP MLAs are ready to join the YSRCP. They are prepared to resign their MLA post if necessary. Even TDP workers are laughing at Chandrababu’s sermons about the need for an opposition.
