Why This Country Is Not Vaccinating Its People?

Though the Government of India has shown a lot of concern in supplying vaccine for Covid to the countries in Indiaâs neighbourhood, at least one country is not administering vaccine immediately.
As part of goodwill gesture, the Government has supplied vaccines to countries like Maldives, Bangladsh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan for free. In addition, India has also supplied vaccine to countries like Brazil on payment of some amount. The Bhutanese have been supplied with 1.5 lakh doses of the vaccine. The vaccine reached Bhutan on January 20. But, the Bhutanese are not going to launch the vaccination drive anytime soon. They are currently stacking up the vaccines.
The reason? Currently, the period of Dana, considered inauspicious, is on. During this period, the Bhutanese do not launch any work. The period will end in March. It is only after this that the vaccination would be taken up in Bhutan.
