Why is the ruling TRS in Telangana over-reacting to the padayatra of BJP state president Bandi Sanjay? The yatra, which is currently covering erstwhile Mahabubnagar district, is without doubts drawing good crowds. But, this yatra is nowhere near the yatra that YSR or YS Jagan took out That being the case, why is the TRS targeting it?
Starting from the first day of the yatra, TRS working president KTR has been targeting the yatra. He has been making adverse comments and is seen attacking Bandi Sanjay. By repeatedly attacking the yatra, the TRS working president is actually helping the BJP get popularity. Bandi's yatra today has become the talk of the town thanks to KTR's vituperative attack.
On Monday, TRS cadres attacked Bandi Sanjay's yatra and a melee ensued when the BJP cadres challenged them. This gave additional publicity to the yatra. The impression is that the TRS is worried about the yatra. On Monday, KTR again attacked the yatra in his characteristic style.
But the question is why is the TRS completely ignoring the Congress Party? Why is it targeting only the BjP? Is there a plan to focus more on BJP to get the Muslim votes, which are very important in Telangana districts? Is the TRS doing it to instill a fear psychosis among the Muslim voters and force them to vote for the party? Or is the TRS trying to get closer to the Congress Party in both the state as well as the Centre? Let's wait and watch for answers to these questions.
