Why Was Mamata Angry During CM's Meet?
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 May 2020 9:12 AMWhile all the CMs, who attended the CMs meet organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were adopting a cooperative and conciliatory approach, only Mamta Banerjee was in a confrontationist mood. The West Bengal CM has been combative all through the CMsâ meet and tried to pick up quarrel at the slightest provocation.
Interestingly, several Congress chief ministers and non-BJP CMs like Navin Patnaik were very cooperative. They came up with several suggestions that Modi has readily accepted and appreciated. The chief ministers of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Tamil Nadu, the four states with serious Corona situation, wanted the lockdown to be extended. None of them is a BJP CM, but all of them favoured lockdown extension. Similarly, the CMs of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan wanted freedom to decide on the green, red and orange zones. But, they too were appreciative of the cooperation being extended by the Centre. But, Mamta Didi was all fire and brimstone and said that the Centre was holding meetings with her officials without informing her. She also slammed the reports of the expert team that inspected the state recently. All through the meeting, she was sulking and shuffling.
Some say, this is natural because Bengal is soon going to polls and Mamta does not want to be seen as being sympathetic to Modi.
