To everyone's surprise, the combined court of Punjab and Haryana has ruled out saying that the wife should be given a family pension even if she kills her husband, she should not be deprived of the pension.
The case reached the Court after the petitioner Baljeet Kaur, who hails from Ambala has knocked on the doors of the combined High Court after the Haryana government stopped pension for her.
Baljeet Kaur's husband Tarsem Singh, a government employee died in 2018. After investigation, the cops have arrested her in 2009, in connection with the case. Later in 2011, the court convicted her in the case.
Hearing the case, the High Court has quashed the orders passed by the government to stop family pension for the convicted. The Court asked the concerned department to give a pension to the petitioner.
In the orders, the High Court directed that the petitioner should be paid the family pension within two months. The amount includes the pending dues, the lady should get.
