Will Chidu Be In Or Out Of Prison?

Earlier, he managed to evade arrest by securing anticipatory bail after anticipatory bail and got protection from the court for years on. But, now senior Congressman and former finance minister P Chidambaram is unable to secure any respite after he was finally arrested. All his anticipatory bail petitions in the INX Media case were rejected and he was finally taken into custody to be put into jail. Though senior lawyers like Kapil Sibal had fiercely argued that an arrest was not necessary, the court rejected their contention. Now, he is unable to secure a bail. The hearing on his latest bail petition was completed. But, the verdict is still reserved. Whether he would be in or out of the jail will be decided only after the verdict is out.

Chidambaram has been lodged in an ordinary prison with no special facilities and amenities. He is now experiencing a taste of the food of the Tihar prison. Chidu, who was known to get his rivals arrested at the drop of a hat, is now getting a taste of his own medicine.
