Will Congress Be Out Of Maharashtra Government?
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 July 2020 10:31 AM GMTEven as the drama is playing out in Rajasthan to enable the Congress to implode, similar moves are on in Maharashtra, another state where the Congress is sharing power. The Congress is already a junior partner in Maharashtra and is now being ignored by the two dominant partners - the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party.
Congress has already expressed its dissatisfaction over the way the Maha Vikas Aghadi is working. The Congress is not being kept in the loop when key decisions are being taken. The Congress leaders have not been given key posts in the ministry and are not even consulted on major issues. The BJP feels that it is only a matter of time before the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena combine falls through and there is a recalibration in the state politics.
It is in this wake that the two day tour of Devendra Fadnavis to Delhi is being monitored keenly. He had met Home Minister Amit Shah and several other key leaders. However, like all clever politicians, Fadnavis has pooh-poohed the reports of an imminent coup in the Congress Party. He said he had come to highlight the problems in the state. But, the fact is he is meeting several key operatives and backroom boys of the BJP in Delhi. It appears, something is cooking in Mahrashtra’s ruling alliance.
