The Congress Party, it appears, is willing to take a leaf out of the BJP strategy in Telangana while appointing its new PCC chief. Setting aside old names, the BJP has chosen a young leader as its state chief. This is a big political gamble. Now, the Congress too seems to be following the same strategy.
Highly placed sources tell us that the party high command has decided to appoint Revanth Reddy as the next PCC chief. The High Command has sent a clear signal that it is in favour of Revanth Reddy when it has sent its top leader and eminent lawyer Salman Khursheed to secure a bail for Revanth Reddy in the drones case. Highly placed sources also tell us that the High Command has taken a very serious view of the criticism of Revanth Reddy by seniors like V Hanumanth Rao and others. Taking cue from the high command, leaders like Uttam Kumar Reddy have already begun getting pally with Revanth Reddy.
Recently when Komatireddy Venkat Reddy met the high command seeking the PCC chief's post, the high command did not respond positively. It only asked him to work for the party in a more dedicated manner. All these point out to the fact that the decks are now being cleared for Revanth Reddy.
