Is the TRS planning to put up deceased MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah's son Nomula Bharat as its candidate from Nagarjunasagar? Sources in the know say the party feels Bharat is the best bet for it in the upcoming byelections.
With the reports from the Congress saying that senior Congressman Jana Reddy's son Raghuveer Reddy could be fielded as the party candidate and the BJP trying to field young Anjaiah Yadav, the TRS feels that young Bharat could be the best candidate. He is young and is popular. His father Nomula Narsimhaiah was a popular leader. Also, Bharat is from the Yadav caste, which is present in large numbers in Nagarjunasagar. Though there is pressure from the Reddy lobby to field a Reddy candidate from the constituency, the party seems to be believing that Bharat will have sympathy factor to help him.
However, leaders like Telangana legislative council chairperson Gutta Sukhender Reddy, MLC TeraChinnapu Reddy, Koti Reddy and Vijayender Reddy are also eyeing Nagarjunasagar. If for some reason, another candidate is chosen, then Bharat would be sent to the Rajya Sabha, according to the TRS sources.
