Who will be next after Jyotiraditya Scindia?Political pundits feel that Jyotiraditya Scindia's rebellion is only the beginning and that the BJP is targeting several youth icons in the Congress Party and many of them are already in touch with the BjP leadership. Sources say that the next in line could be Sachin Pilot, the young, affable deputy chief minister of Rajasthan.
Sachin, son of former union minister Rajesh Pilot, is a disgruntled leader as he had hoped to become the CM. However, in the typical Congress fashion, septuagenarian Ashok Gehlot became the CM instead. Ever since, Sachin is disappointed and is sulking. The Congress Party top leadership made no effort to mollify him. Sources say that he too might follow Scindia's route. If Sachin Pilot goes out the Congress with his supporters or joins the BJP, the Congress would land in a soup.
Sources say that another young leader, Milind Deora, who is a promising leader from the Mumbai-Konkan region, too might follow suit. Scindia, Pilot and Deora are three young new faces of the Congress party. If all the three young leaders leave the party, the party would be left with only worn-out, old and jaded faces.
