Will KCR attend Raj Bhavan's Ugadi celebrations?
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 March 2022 12:35 PM GMTAmid deteriorating relations with Governor Tamilisai Saundararajan, will Telangana Chief Minister KCR take part in the Ugadi celebrations at the Raj Bhavan? Will he greet her on the occasion? How will he and his ministerial colleagues respond to the announcement from the Raj Bhavan that it would celebrate the Ugadi festival on a grand scale?
Highly placed sources say that KCR might skip the meeting to express his displeasure against the BJP-led Central Government. Of late, KCR has been making several caustic comments against the Central Government and has even declared an all-out war against the Modi dispensation. Even on the paddy procurement issue, KCR has chosen the confrontation course.
KCR's relations with Governor Tamilisai worsened after she rejected the government's recommendation of Kaushik Reddy for the MLC under the social service quota. On the Republic Day, KCR chose not to visit the Raj Bhavan. Later, the state government did not make the protocol arrangements for the Governor's visit to the Medaram Jatara. The latest in the series of discords is KCR's decision to do away with the customary address of the Governor to the joint house.
Given all this, a big question mark hangs over whether KCR will accept the invitation to the Ugadi festivities or not. The Governor said that she wants to turn a new leaf on Ugadi Day and wants to let bygones be bygones. However, it remains to be seen how KCR responds to the demand.
