Remember Konda family? Konda Surekha and Konda Murali were the unquestioned leaders in Warangal district. Frequent party-hopping and wrong political moves have ensured their defeat in 2018 elections. Ever since, they have been keeping an unusually low profile.
But, indications are that their hibernation may end soon. Both Murali and Surekha are getting active again. They want to make a comeback in the Warangal municipal corporation elections. The couple are now focusing on Warangal East assembly constituency area, which has 23 divisions. They want to win most of them in the upcoming elections. Surekha is already undertaking extensive tours of the constituency and is seen activating old contacts. Meanwhile, Konda Murali is focusing on the Bhupalapalli constituency again.
Once known for their steadfast support for late YSR, Konda couple later moved to the TRS. Though she was made an MLA, she has largely been kept in the margins. KCR did not give them any importance. Later they contested on Congress ticket and lost the elections. Will the GWMC elections revive their fortunes? Let's wait and see.
