Will Mandava Leave TRS?
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Aug 2020 9:28 AM ISTHe was a former TDP leader who was considered quite close to Chandrababu Naidu. Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election, he was wooed into the TRS with a promise of a respectable rehabilitation. The elections are long over, but the promised rehabilitation is still a distant dream. What more, no one in the TRS top echelons seems to be talking about it any more.
So, what's the leader doing now! If our sources are to be believed, he is planning to join the BJP. The BJP is said to have approached him and he is said to be talking to his supporters about the BjP proposal. The leader in question is Mandava Venkateshwara Rao in Nizamabad. Mandava is said to be quite upset over the TRS ignoring him. Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, both Mandava and former speaker KR Suresh Reddy were invited into the TRS. While Reddy was given the Rajya Sabha seat, Mandava, who was promised the MLC seat, stood ignored. The MLC seat has now gone to Kavitha Kalwakuntla.
Meanwhile, the BJP is said to have approached him and asked him to join the party. If sources are to be believed, Mandava is said to be actively considering the offer. He is said to be in consultations with his supporters in Dichpalli. If he crosses over, then it would be a huge morale booster for the BJP in Nizamabad.
