Will Mudragada forge a Kapu-BC-SC unity to fight 2024 elections?
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Jan 2022 1:00 PM GMTThink Mudragada Padmanabham think Kapu politics. Over the years, Mudragada Padmanabham has become a byword for the fight for Kapu rights. He is perhaps the only politician who does not introductions such as former MP or former Minister. He is so synonymous with Kapu interests that he is identified as the only Kapu patriarch in the Telugu states.
His fight for Kapu reservations has led to the downfall of the TDP government. His tacit support to the YSRCP has helped YS Jagan win the 2019 elections. In twin Godavari districts, which are considered the citadels for the TDP, could return only six MLAs to the assembly out of a total of 34 seats. The others have been defeated fair and square.
It now appears that Mudragada is changing his strategy. He is talking of launching a new political outfit, but not just meant for the Kapus. He says there should be a Bahujan outfit that accommodates the SCs and STS also along with the Kapus. He is now talking of preparing a blue print for the Kapu-BC- SC-ST unity. It is now becoming increasingly clear that Mudragada is looking to establish a third alternative in AP.
Interestingly, he has only recently held a meeting with the leaders from the SC, BC and the ST community at his Kirlampudi residence. But what would be the impact of the Mudragada-led front on AP politics in 2024 elections. Let's wait and see.
