Will NTR Health Varsity issue boomerang for TDP?

Is the TDP overplaying its hand on the issue of renaming of the NTR Health University? Will its attempts to oppose the renaming boomerang on him and his party? Will he end up losing the support of the non-Kamma sections of the society? Will he get distracted by this issue and lose sight of the Amaravati capital agitation?
These are the questions that are being discussed among the political observers these days. His opposition to the removal of NTR's name is being met with derision from a strong section of the people. These people are questioning as to why did he change Rajiv Aarogyasri to NTR Arogya Sri and why did he change NG Ranga Agricultural University to NTR agricultural university.
Similarly, old videos of the TDP leaders throwing footwear on NTR during the Viceroy Hotel episode have gone viral on social media. The people have begun questioning whether his love for NTR has political benefits in mind. On both the counts, Chandrababu Naidu is unable to answer. At the same time, the attacks on Junior NTR, Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad and others who remained non-committal, too are proving counter-productive.
There are also reports that the issue is also alienating the people belonging to other social communities. Pundits say that it is likely that the attempts to appease the Kamma community might end up alienating other communities. Most importantly, the focus on the Amaravati agitation has lost its focus. Hence the political analysts feel that the emphasis on NTR university issue could end up defeating the very purpose of consolidating support for the TDP.
