BJPs big worry: Will Pawan Walk out on BJP alliance during Modis tour to AP?
X
There is utter confusion in the BJP team of Andhra Pradesh these days over the alliance with the Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi all set to visit Visakhapatnam on November 11 and 12, the party is said to be quite desperate about keeping Jana Sena in its fold. APBJP president Somu Veerraju is said to be making last ditch attempts to keep the alliance going.

Pawan Kalyan, who has openly expressed his dissatisfaction over the BJP for not giving him a roadmap for 2024 elections, is now charting his own course. Recently, Pawan Kalyan has led protests over demolitions in Ippatam village, which hosted the party’s meeting. He is now said to be planning to visit the people who would be affected by the privatization of the Vizag Steel Plant.

Pawan has also announced that he would call on the oustees of the Polavaram project. Both these events are being seen as challenges to the BJP and to Prime Minister Modi. That he has decided to organize these two protests at a time when PM Modi is visiting the state are being interpreted as open defiance.

It is now becoming increasingly clear that the BJP is averse to any kind of electoral understanding with the Telugu Desam Party. At the same time, Jana Sena is moving closer to Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP. This only means that the Jana Sena will align with the TDP and walkout on the alliance with the BJP. The BJP feels that this could happen at a time when Modi is in Vizag.
