The massive cruise ship started its journey from the shore city Vizag which is supported to reach Chennai via Puducherry. The cruise ship started its journey amid much fanfare.
However, the cruise ship is facing criticism as it reportedly has dedicated space for gambling and other activities. It is also said that liquor from other states is also being offered. These factors are making it face criticism in Puducherry. The political parties are raising its voice against the arrival of the cruise ship.
With the controversy hitting the cruise ship, it is not allowed to enter the limits of Puducherry port. Since morning, the ship has been awaiting permission to enter the post to take a halt as the trip is two days long. The ship organizers are hoping that they might get permission.
With the Puducherry authorities making sure that the cruise ship will not be allowed, the ship organizers are holding talks with other nearby port authorities to stop the ship. Since morning, the ship organizers have been awaiting the permission but in vain.
Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Tamilisai Soundararajan spoke to the media and said that there are a few doubts about the gambling and liquor inside the cruise ship and until they get a clarity that there are no such things inside the ship, they cannot permit the cruise ship.
The rules say that having Port clearance is a must for water travel. With the Lieutenant Governor saying that without clarity they cannot let the ship enter, the ship organizers are in a big shock. We have to wait and see how the ship organizers will deal with the issue.
