Will Raghuramakrishnam resign from MP post on January 7?
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Jan 2022 12:42 PM GMTIs rebel YSRCP MP from Narsapur in West Godavari â Raghuramakrishnam Raju - planning to resign from his MP post and contest again on the BJP ticket? The rumour mill is abuzz with the stories of Raghuramakrishnam Raju planning to join the BJP and fight elections on its ticket. Sources say that he could make a formal announcement of his resignation on January 7.
Sources say that Raghuramakrishnam Raju is facing two major problems. Firstly, there are cases relating to defaulting on bank loan payments. The YSRCP too has sought his disqualification. To avoid both the issues, he is said to be planning to resign from the MP post and also the party. He is then planning to contest on the BJP ticket from the same seat.
Raju, according to his close associates, is of the opinion that the BJP is quite strong in the Lok Sabha constituency as actor Krishnam Raju had represented the BJP there. Secondly, the Raju community, he believes, is strongly behind him especially after his arrest and subsequent release. He is also confident that the Jana Sena would support him. Thus, he can put up a spirited fight against the YSRCP.
If sources are to be believed, Raju will announce his resignation from both the Lok Sabha and the YSRCP on January 7. He is already said to have held discussions with his supporters on this issue. It remains to be seen if Raghurama's plans work out.
