Will Sidda Raghava Rao Be Made An MLC?

Will former minister and senior leader of the Vysya community Sidda Raghava Rao be made an MLC from Prakasam district. YSRCP insiders say that Raghava Rao could be given a coveted post. Raghava Rao, who won from Darsi in Prakasam district and then became a minister in Chandrababu Naidu cabinet, has later joined the YSRCP after 2019. But, he had to remain without any post.
While the other TDP imports like Pandula Ravindra Babu, Thota Trimurthulu, Pothula Sunitha and Docca Manikya Varaprasad were made MLCs through various categories, Sidda Raghava Rao continues to be ignored even after being in the party for over two years. Recently, he reportedly met YS Jagan and listed the possible advantages to the party if he is made an MLC.
Jagan who considered his caste background, felt that he would be a good candidate for MLC post. Also, he is from Prakasam district. This was seen as an added advantage. So, Jagan is now said to be actively considering giving him an MLC seat.
If Sidda is made an MLC, it would help in placating an upset Vysya community. Similarly, he may not be able to seek an MLA ticket in 2024. Thus, Jagan reportedly saw many advantages in making Sidda Raghava Rao an MLC. The announcement is expected anytime soon.
