Will social boycott work against YSRCP's Kamma leaders?
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Dec 2021 5:58 PM ISTHave the strident attacks on Chandrababu Naidu proved costly for the YSRCP politicians belonging to the same community as that of Chandrababu Naidu? Sources from the community say that invitations are not being extended to Kamma leaders in the YSRCP to the functions being held in the Kamma families.
Recently, a famous industrialist has organized a house-warming ceremony for his new villa. Though everyone was invited, a Kamma minister and an MLA from the community were not invited. Similarly, there were a couple of weddings in the Kamma community and the two persons were not invited.
Interestingly, the minister and the MLA appear to be unperturbed. They are putting on a defiant face. They are said to be claiming that they were not bothered about this development. "We win elections not because of a single community. We will because of all other communities. If one community leaves us, there are 100 communities waiting to support us, " is the defiant comment of one of the targeted Kamma leader from the YSRCP.
While the leaders of the community feel that this would teach these leaders a lesson they can never forget, the leaders in question are least perturbed about the social ostracism. However, some in the community feel that bringing politics into the community might prove counter-productive in the long run.
