Will start office in AP once capital city is fixed: RBI!
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Feb 2022 11:00 AM GMTThe Indian regulatory body Reserve Bank of India(RBI) has regional offices in almost every state in the country. After Telangana was carved out of combined Andhra Pradesh, there has been an opinion that RBI will set up an office in Andhra Pradesh too. However, there was no quality development in the matter.
The issue is the news for one more time when RBI made its stand clear on when it will set up an office in Andhra Pradesh. When a request seeking an office in Andhra Pradesh reached the RBI, the body gave its response on when the office would be set up in the state.
RBI said that it will take a call on the office once the state gets capital. The response letter was reportedly written in the name of the Deputy General Manager of the regulatory body.
Amaravati Development Authority Chairman Jasti Veeranjaneyulu had reportedly written to the RBI to seek an RBI office in Andhra Pradesh. As a response to the request received, RBI Deputy General Manager M.K. Subhashree said that, after the capital is fixed, the office would be set up.
The question of what is the capital city of the state had been raised when the YSRCP government came up with the proposal to have three capitals. The government had withdrawn the Three Capitals bill and said that a new bill will be introduced again.
